AMAC (American Muslim Advisory Council)
Services Provided: AMAC’s mission is to empower Muslims across Tennessee through civic engagement, community building and media relations in order to protect all Tennesseans from prejudice and targeted violence.

Arc Davidson County
Services Provided: Supports, protects, and advocates for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Resources for both community advocacy and individual advocacy, trainings to help families who have a member with disabilities better advocate for themselves. Partners with Metro Nashville Public Schools to teach soft skills (i.e. social skills, self-advocacy, interviewing, resume development) in classrooms.

Be a Helping Hand
Services Provided: Focus on strengthening and preserving people, culture , and neighborhoods of North Nashville. Providing North Nashville families and individuals affordable housing that is sustainable, safe, and comfortable. We have a program that improves the health and well being of neighborhood through tree planting, planting rain gardens, installation of native plant beds, and nature programming for kids.

Elmahaba Center
Services Provided: Elmahaba Center has focused on three campaigns in 2024: language access through Our State, Our Languages, arts funding through Arts Equity Nashville, and anti-surveillance in coalition work. They host several Know Your Rights livestreams and clinics throughout the year.

Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee
Services Provided: Handles a broad range of civil cases to protect livelihood, legal issues, health and safety of low income families. If you need assistance with a criminal court case or situation, please contact the Public Defenders Office.

National Alliance on Mental Illness Tennessee
Services Provided: Organization made up of people with mental illness, their families and community members, dedicated to improving quality of life for people with mental illness and their families through support, education and advocacy.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m-5 p.m
The Office of the Public Defender (Nashville Defenders)
Services Provided: Free legal representation for those below certain income guidelines and are arrested under a criminal offense.
Application: If your case is in General Sessions Court, and you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, you must go to the Public Defender’s Office to apply for a lawyer. They encourage you to come to their office as soon as possible after your arrest, and you must come at least two days before your court date. If you come to their office less than two days before your court date, they will not be able to help you.

Services Provided: Free support for parents, family, and friends of lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, non-binaryand transgender people. Monthly virtual support meetings. We are here to listen, encourage, guide, and assist you as you work to understand what it means to be LGBTQ

Tennessee Disability Coalition
Services Provided: An alliance of organizations and individuals joined to promote the full and equal participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of life.

Tennessee Voices
Services Provided: Offers advocacy and resources for people looking to transform their mental health with expertise in family mental health and early childhood support.
Application Process: Can make referrals (including self referrals) online or by walking in.

Workers’ Dignity / Dignidad Obrera
Services Provided: Grassroots organization advocating against stolen wages, for low-income workers, safe construction sites, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and immigrants. Check Facebook and website for virtual meetings. Can only help with wage theft cases in Davidson County.
